Virginia Citizens,
For $33,000 a year would you run the risk of being shot or hit by a car? Would you work every national and state holiday? Would you work rotating shifts and be on call 24 hours a day in case of any emergency? Would you try to stop a wanted person by yourself? Would you be willing to hold the hand of a dying child or comfort the family that just lost that child? Would you risk your life to save someone you’ve never seen before? Troopers all over Virginia do these and other genuinely heroic tasks daily.
As Citizens of the Commonwealth you deserve the best services and protection that the State of Virginia can offer. As the Virginia Troopers Alliance, we want to make sure that Citizens know how hard Troopers are working to keep them safe and what Troopers need to accomplish their mission of keeping you safe.
All Troopers are also Citizens. We have spouses, children, and extended families all over Virginia. When we protect you, we are also protecting our own families. Nothing is better motivation than that. In that same light, Troopers need help from concerned Citizens. For years Troopers have been behind surrounding states and local law enforcement in pay and benefits. During those same years Troopers have been asked to do more with less equipment and support than those same surrounding states and local agencies.
In the process, Trooper’s families have suffered. However, at two o’clock in the morning when we are doing a traffic stop on a wanted person by ourselves with no backup for miles we do want to know that our families are taken care of. We put our lives on the line everyday, all we are asking is for concerned Citizens, like you, to stand up and help us.
Share your insight and ideas with the Virginia Troopers Alliance. We are a non-profit group working solely to help improve Virginia State Troopers and Virginia law enforcement. We are not looking for money. We are not trying to sell you products or bother you on the telephone. We want your help in communicating what Troopers do and how we can do it better. If you have questions we can’t answer right away we will do our best to get you an answer. Together we can truly make a difference in the Commonwealth.
