* Assistance with organizing your Local
VSLEA is presently part of the VTA. The VSLEA concept is to, in time, become a separate and independent labor organization offering membership and benefits to all sworn law enforcement members that are employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia (i.e. Virginia State Police, Virginia Game Wardens, Virginia State College Police, Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Police, Virginia Port Authority Police, Virginia Park Police and any other sworn law enforcement, police or investigators covered under the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management).
Currently the VSLEA is chartered by I.U.P.A. through the VTA. The VTA will organize and support VSLEA members until the VSLEA is capable of self-chartering through I.U.P.A., at which time the VTA will become one independent member of multiple independent members chartered by the I.U.P.A. under the VSLEA.
The Mission of the VSLEA
The mission of the VSLEA is to be a comprehensive and highly ethical, nonprofit, sworn employee’s labor organization (involved in the community, workplace and government) comprised of multiple independent employee groups individually sponsoring interdepartmental change and united in bettering the professional and personal lives of its members and voicing and promoting positive change regarding job related issues that affect sworn state employee welfare and each respective department’s mission.
